We asked for your ideas and you delivered

The COVID-19 global pandemic has impacted the way we connect with each other in a big way.

In response, we decided to invest NZD $3.77M to develop digital or technology-focused ideas that would help maintain or strengthen social connections and tackle isolation that many of us have felt this year.

We wanted ideas particularly aimed for men who are at greater risk of social isolation because of where they live, their socio-economic status or cultural background.

But we couldn’t do it without your help. In August, we asked for your innovative ideas - and you delivered.

Check out the 72 ideas that have been selected from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and the UK, here.

Projects have been grouped into six thematic areas: Apps and Artificial Intelligence (AI); Creative Expressions such as story telling, music, art; Gaming/Gamification and Video Production; Culture & Inclusiveness; Life Events including fatherhood, bereavement, aging etc.; and Mentorship - Peer Support.

Whats next?

Up to 16 projects showing the strongest potential for broader application and to improve men’s mental health will be selected by a panel of subject matter experts for co-development with Movember and will be announced in April 2021.
