Each year's statement is different. The Writers strike has impacted so many people, myself included in having tough conversations that should not have been had. But, beyond that - day to day, people have much bigger issues, struggles and pains.
The worst thing I can think of is someone struggling and suffering in pain- if they could just reach out.

Be that person. Try and make yourself that one they want to talk to.
At the end of the day - wouldnt you want that one person you can go to no matter what..
