My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Prostate cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

This year, as a first time father, I want to make sure that I'm around for my son as long as I can be. I want to know that it's okay to speak up about how you feel and what you're feeling, and it's okay to not be okay because there's support.

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and this Movember I'm joining them. Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help me stop men dying too young.

How I'm
getting involved
60 of 60 kilometres
walking
37.15 kilometres
running
23.39 kilometres
I'm moving 60km this Movember for the 60 men we lose each hour of every day.

Half-way Update Time!
Thanks to everyone who has sent through some amazing messages and supported me so far through Movember. Massive thanks to those that have donated so far! 95% of the initial fundraising goal, but let's blow that figure away!
Shout out to my Mo-Bro & birthday twin Arn, for all the support through the movement aspect. This is us, with gloriously glistening moustaches, after a 4km lunch run in 32°

Today we're doubling down on the do-gooding with my 99th Lifeblood donation.
Mo wise, it's day 6 and shadows have formed and a shape is shaved in. With not being clean shaven for a while, the beard tanline is almost reflective though!

For some reason my posts from the MoSpace App are not carrying across to the web page, but fear not!
Movember is well underway and my beard of 3 years is no more! But one does not simply shave off for Movember, oh no! It must be a game of mo's, as seen here

Day 1 of Movember and the thing I was most interested in seeing was if PJ would recognize me without a beard.
For the 8 months of his life, that's all he's known!
Thankfully, he was completely unfazed.
Watch this space to see how he views the mo!

Movember 1st and what better way to get started than by heading to Lifeblood to donate platelets.
Great to see they're also behind the cause with LifebloodxMovember signage and bandages in stock.
Get behind both these good things this year!

It's day 4 of Movember and I'm finally starting to see some decent shadow emerge.

Whilst 2020 has been a testing year for mental health. Finding some semblance of a routine has helped a lot with coping. Part of that routine is giving back to others by donating plasma or platelets on a fortnightly basis.
Sometimes it's the small things like this that help with your own well being.

If you want to know more and if you can donate head to www.lifeblood.com.au or www.nzblood.co.nz

As always, any donation toward Movember will help in so many other ways also!

Day 2.

It turns out that a lot of people have not seen my face looking this bare and it's taking them a bit to get used to.

And so Movember dawns upon us again and the light hits the forgotten ivory landscape that was once hidden underneath the dense foliage...

Movember Eve...

It's been a hot minute since I was last clean shaven. I can't actually remember how long it has been.
It's also been a long time since my last pre-midnight Movember post also.
This year, I just want people to speak up if they need to. I struggled with my own mental health over the last two years and I want people to know that it's okay to ask for help. Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness. You can't do everything alone.

Day 2 ~ What We Grow in the Shadows.

It turns out that getting a cut throat shave in the middle of day one, doesn't pose the best advantage to promote growth. My five o'clock shadow doesn't even appear to have kicked in after more than 24 hours. but oh well.
Speaking of shadows, a lot of people keep themselves bottled up with their shadows weighing down on them. Spare a moment for a family member, friend, coworker and just ask, are you okay?
That simple gesture could help someone today :)

Day 1 ~ The Shave Down.
Thankfully, being back in the southern hemisphere for Movember means that once the fuzz comes off, my face still feels warm from the sun!
I went during my lunch break for my first cut throat shave (got to do things right!) and none of my coworkers had ever seen me clean shaven.
I wish I'd had video rolling

372 Week(s) Ago

The dawn of Movember 2017 and only the second time in my Movember lifetime that I haven't been clean shaven at the stroke of midnight.

Today is a special treatment though. Stay tuned!
