The Movember Foundation is an Australian based, not for profit, charitable organisation that implements the Movember event each year. The Movember event creates awareness around men's health issues and raises funds for carefully selected beneficiary partners in each country that are also charitable organisations, with a focus on prostate cancer. Since its inception as a formal charity in 2004, Movember has raised over $30 million (AUD) globally and is continuously working to increase awareness of prostate cancer within the community and change the attitude men have about their health. In New Zealand Movember's beneficiary partner for the 2006 - 2007 campaigns was the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand who is using the Movember funds to provide support resources for Kiwi men battling prostate cancer and to further raise the awareness for preventative testing. Movember has selected two new beneficiary partners for the next three years. These are the Cancer Society of New Zealand in support of prostate cancer and the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand in support of men's depression through their "Out of the Blue" campaign. The Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand will use the funds raised by Movember for their "Out of the Blue" campaign to encourage men to take action, provide men with information to know what they can do for themselves and where they might go for help when experiencing depression. The Cancer Society of New Zealand will use the funds raised by Movember to research into the causes, detection, diagnosis and improved treatment of prostate cancer. They will also raise community awareness of issues affecting men's health and provide support services for those affected with cancer. Movember's global beneficiary partners are:Australia
