*** NEW CHALLENGE****
I am now doing a 60km unsupported run from my Waitrose depot to the Waitrose HQ in Bracknell

This year I am upping the ante for a challenge - running Race to the Stones, a 100km ultra-marathon, from Oxford to Avebury Ring. I have never done more than a 10km race but the physical challenge will not be harder than the mental challenges I have faced in my life

I have lived with a condition called Dysthymia (persistent depressive disorder) for more than 25 years and came close to taking my own life because I felt I was alone, unable to talk and not a proper man. Men make up 3/4 of all suicides and unfortunately last year numbers increased by more than 10% with over 90 men a week taking their own lives in the UK alone.

The Movember Foundation focuses solely on men's health, encouraging us to be Men of More Words, working to get more men talking, mental illness de-stigmatised and preventing suicide which takes the life of a man every minute globally

Thanks for helping me to support their vital work in saving men’s lives

Hey! Only me :)

I know we chat regularly but I'm welcoming people on their mo spaces and didn't want to leave you out ;) It's great to have you back! We really appreciate you joining us again.

Thanks to Mo legends like you, in 2020 we were able to invest over £66million AUD in our key investment areas of mental health and suicide prevention, prostate and testicular cancer research and survivorship and men’s health education and awareness.

If there is anything we can do to help make this Movember a success, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I hope you have a great month!

Hi James!

Did you know that you're number 5 in the individual leader board? It's incredible. Thought I would let you know that the competition closes at 10pm next Monday 9th December, so if you have any more donations to pay in, now is the time to do so to secure your place on the hall of fame!

Have a great day!
Stef

Hi James,

My name’s Owen, and I’m the CEO here at the Movember Foundation. I just wanted to get in touch personally to say congratulations and thank you, for kicking off your Movember in such a big way. £1,883 is fantastic!

To help you understand the impact of your efforts, our team have put together this video, it profiles some of the fantastic projects we’re currently funding here in the UK.

Keep up the great work, and if there’s anything at all that we can help you with please do get in touch with us at Mo HQ - info.uk@movember.com .

Mo on,
Owen

It is brilliant being able to run with people and for them to share why Movember is important to them! Ran with our business analyst intern Denver, today and he is very open about why it is good to talk. I do see a generational difference but still not to a level that we have this cracked so we still need to be men of more words and get the men in our lives to talk more!

Up in Blackpool for daughters dance competition. Have done 2 runs up here on the promenade and as it is Blackpool the Rock a Mo tag is appropriate. Thinking about why I was doing the challenge on my run and it is to support those who may be struggling right now. Reach out to someone who you are concerned about. It could change their lives.

Note: As donations can be made privately, not all donations are displayed to the public.
