The unrelenting support of the communities of Mackay & Whitsundays is here for all to see and trusting they will get behind my campaign again in 2025. I have been a passionate Mo Bro since 2008 and this is my 18th consecutive campaign. Have been the Captain and Chief Motivator of an incredible group of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas in the MOV~ing Mackay Cricket Club since 2011. I thoroughly enjoyed my two TCS NYC Marathon experiences for Movember in 2018 and 2019 and am very proud that in 2019 with more Aussies in the Team we beat our efforts of yesteryears and created a new benchmark by raising the most monies by any Movember Marathon Team till date.

My 2025 MO Stache is inspired by MOVEMBER and what it stands for and the fight against the 2 main cancers in men namely Prostate Cancer and Testicular Cancer with the MO symbolising crab claws (symbol of Cancer in the zodiac) with a heart in the middle to symbolise Mental illness and Suicide Prevention and a curl at either end(Curl A MO).

1st of December Mo-poem to keep the spirit growing on.

Movember’s done, the razors cheer,
Yet quiet battles stay right here.
The Mo may fade, the cause does not,
Check your mates, ask “How’s your lot?”
First of December, summer light,
A brand-new month to hold men tight.
Send that text, return that call,
Small brave words can break a wall.
For every dad and silent friend,
For sons still learning how to mend,
For brothers fighting fear alone,
Grow care, not hair, in muscle and bone.
So as the tinsel starts to glow
And Christmas ads steal Movember’s show,
Keep one vow from your moustached days:
Change men’s lives in steady ways.
Today, day one, let’s set this tone:
No man left to face it alone.
Mo or no, through each December,
Hold the stories, help remember.

Day 30- The last Day of Movember 2025

Movember’s last sunrise hums low on the lip,
Thirty days of tickle, itch and quip.
Coffee cools while razors wait in rows,
Honour in the stubble, courage in the growth.
Today we count the brothers still in the fight,
The ones we lost quietly, alone in the night.
For every hidden grief behind a practiced grin,
This month we have worn a question mark on skin.
Each whisker was a whisper: “Mate, you alright?”
A tiny lighthouse on a tired face at night.
Convos in the lunchroom, check-ins in the car,
Reminding every bloke his storms do not make him scar.
So here is to the Mo’s—patchy, proud or thin,
To mates who turned up and chose to lean in.
We raised more than hairs; we raised our eyes to see
That strong means softer hearts and brave vulnerability.
On this 30th of Movember, before the razors sing,
Let gratitude and gentleness be the last things that cling.
Then carry this moustache spirit into every other day—
Ask, listen, hug your brothers, and help them find their way.

Day 29: Nearly There

Another dawn, another shave restrained,
A month of growth, both whiskers and will,
Each grey or golden curl maintained,
each silent vow held brave and still.
Conversations sparked from simple hair,
Stories told of courage and pain,
Of fathers, brothers, mates who care, and choose to stand, again, again.
The mirror shows more than your face—
It shows the fight you have carried through,
A grin that says, in quiet grace,
“Tomorrow, I will finish what I set to do.”
Though Movember nears its gentle close,
Its message lingers like the scent
of purpose, strong and deeply rose—
A month well worn, and truly spent.

The Four Weeks of Movember

Week One – The Spark

A clean face meets the mirror’s gleam,
The razor rests, replaced by dream.
A stubble sprouts—small sign, yet proud,
A pledge is made, both soft and loud.
Each whisker whispers: hope, begin,
For change takes shape upon the skin.
Week Two – The Growing Talk

The ‘mo’ takes form, a village grows,
Of mates and strangers, each one knows.
Conversations spark, sincere, unplanned,
Of fathers lost, of helping hands.
Between the laughs, the chin lifts high—
Courage grows where tears once lie.

Week Three – The Middle Grind

Some stray hairs mock, the mirror tests,
The mid-month doubt within one’s chest.
But purpose trims the weary face,
Reminding hearts why they embraced
This month of cause, this call to care—
To fight, to check, to simply share.

Week Four – The Reflection

The mo now full, the mission clear,
The end draws close, yet not the cheer.
For mateship lives beyond the shave,
In every story, strong or brave.
Movember ends, but not its call—
Grow for good, and stand for all.

63 Not Out

He walked to the crease with a smile so wide,
A young man’s dream, the nation’s pride.
Bat in hand, eyes set to roam,
On fields of green he called his home.
The crowd would hush, the willow sing,
A simple joy—that timeless thing.
Each stroke, each run, a story made,
Of grit and grace that will not fade.
Then silence fell, the world stood still,
A life cut short, yet living still.
For every pitch where children play,
His name is whispered by the day.
Not gone, but paused, in golden time,
His memory’s score forever prime.
For 63 not out he stays,
A song of heart through endless days.

Day 28: The Mo Still Stands

The month’s grown long, the mirror shows
A face that time and purpose knows.
Each hair a promise, each line a fight,
For men to speak, to seek the light.
The laughs were loud, the stories deep,
Of mates we have lost, and vows we keep.
From stubble’s start to Mo’s proud frame,
Each morning whispering one same name— Courage.
To listen more, to bare the pain,
To lift another through the rain.
A month of growth, yet more than hair,
It is care made visible, hope laid bare.
So here we stand, near journey’s end,
Movember’s call, our hearts to mend.
For every Mo still standing tall—
A sign of strength that saves us all.

Your knowledge and dedication really inspired me during our interview. I appreciate all the work you do for men with Prostate Cancer and your personal resilience in having overcome and thrived from your early challenges in Australia as you were starting off as a doctor. Day 27 – The Home Stretch

The mirror holds a month’s story,
each whisker a quiet vow,
To speak for mates who stayed too silent, to stand together here and now.
The itch was loud in week two’s wind, the jokes came thick and free,
But every laugh lit up the cause—
to help men live, and be.
Now near the end, the MO feels strong, as roots of purpose grow,
We have walked through stats, through heart and mind,
To show what men can show.
For Movember is not just facial hair,
it is courage in disguise,
To talk, to check, to care, to share,
to fight, and then to rise.

MO 2025 Campaign- The 26th Day

The mirror greets a bristled face,
Each hair a tale, each mark a trace.
Not vanity, but purpose grown,
A silent pledge through skin and bone.
The mornings came, the razors stayed,
Conversations sparked, fears allayed.
From stubble roots to hearts that mend,
The month nears close, but not the end.
For Movember’s not just whiskers’ frame,
It is courage lit in men by name.
A brother’s nod, a friend’s concern,
The quiet chat where lives return.
So hold the line, we are nearly there,
The world’s still watching, still aware.
Grow strong, grow proud through each new day,
For change begins the Mo-men’s way.

Day 25: The Mo Marches On

The mirror smiles a little wider now,
Lines of effort frame the brow.
From stubble dreams to furry fame,
Each strand a story, each day a flame.
The cause runs deeper than the shave,
It is courage shared, the way we brave
The talk, the test, the tear, the try—
For mates who fight, for reasons why.
The Mo’s no joke, it is a mindful sign,
A banner for health’s frontline.
We have laughed, we have learned, we have shown we care,
With every whisker, change grows there.
So raise the Mo, the month of MOVEMBER is near done—
But not the mission we have begun.
For MOVEMBER’s more than days to count,
It is voices joined in full amount.

Day 24: The Moustache Still Stands

Twenty-four days of the MO’ on my face,
A badge of courage, a mark of grace.
It itched, it grew, it shaped in style,
But deeper than hair’s the reason all the while.
I have faced the mirror with grit and pride,
For brothers who struggle, for lives denied.
The talk it sparked, the laughter shared,
Reminds the world that men are cared.
Now near the end, but not the cause—
This movement is not meant to pause.
For every Mo that bristles strong,
A voice grows louder, joins the throng.
So I will hold that Mo a few days more,
Each strand a story worth fighting for.
When December dawns and razors hum,
Remember why Movember begun.

Day 23 of Movember

Day twenty-three, the mirror grins back,
The Mo’s in full bloom, with a hint of attack.
It tickles through coffee, it braves every breeze,
A badge of intent, not just facial tease.
The chat around health grows bolder each day,
At work, in the gym, men find words to say.
Stories exchange in small sacred tones,
Of mates once silent, now lifting their stones.
Fatigue starts to settle, but spirits stand tall,
Each whisker reminds what this fight’s for—after all,
It’s not just a challenge or charity’s flair,
It’s a brotherhood built on courage and care.
So here’s to the mo’s, both neat and untrimmed,
To faces of purpose, proud and unbrimmed.
For Movember’s not over—it’s still on its run,
And twenty-three days in, the change has begun

Three Weeks of Movember

Week one begins with a prickly dare,
Fresh razors glide, the skin laid bare.
A shadow forms, a grin appears,
Old mates nod — “It’s that time of year.”
By week two, the fuzz takes pride,
A scruffy badge men wear worldwide.
Stories bloom in barber chairs,
Of brothers lost, of self-care prayers.
Week three comes with laughter bold,
The Mo now strong, the weather cold.
Funds are raised, hearts are stirred,
Mental health finds voice in word.
In town halls, gyms, and cafés near,
Movember grows what we hold dear—
Not just hair, but hope and grace,
A better world, one Mo at a pace.

Day 22: The Quiet Strength

Each dawn brings a mirror and a choice— to shave the doubt, or wear the cause.
The stubble stands as more than hair, it marks the voices learning to share.
Day twenty-two, the talk grows deep, beyond the jokes and “mo” upkeep.
It is stories told between the sets,
of loss, of hope, of no regrets.
The gym, the walk, the cup of chai,
become small rituals to try—
To live with care, to check your mate, before concern becomes too late.
Each whisker’s weight, a gentle creed: to listen, love, and plant a seed.
Movember’s not a trend to fade,
but proof of courage softly made.

“Bound for Glory in the West”

From red dust tracks to Perth’s bright sun,
The Baggy Green boys are set to run.
Bats will sing and seamers roar,
For cricket’s war is on once more.
Across the sea the Pommies come,
With dreams of silencing Aussie drums.
But in the West, where shadows burn,
The tide of gold and green will turn.
The crowd will rise, the anthem loud,
Every Aussie heart beats proud.
For spirit, grit, and mateship true,
Defines this team in gold and blue.
So swing it, seam it, bowl with heart,
Stand tall, play smart, and own your part.
Luck be yours from start to end—
Go on, Aussies—defend, contend, transcend!

Day 21: The Mo with Meaning

Three weeks in, the MO holds ground,
Whispers of grit in every strand found.
It is no longer new, it is part of the face,
A badge of courage, of quiet grace.
The early jokes have thinned a bit,
But purpose still burns, strong and lit.
For every story of pain or fear,
There is laughter, love, and mates still near.
The mirror shows more than hair and style,
It shows resilience all the while.
So keep it neat or let it roam,
Each whisker’s work is saving homes.
Raise your cup to the Mo you wear,
For showing men that others care.
Day twenty-one—still going strong,
Together we stand, where MO’s belong.

The 20th Day of Movember

The mirror greets a curious grin,
An iconic 2025 MO nearly breaking in.
Three weeks of growth, a badge of care,
Each strand a story men now share.
The jokes have slowed, the cause shines bright,
Talk shifts from style to men’s own fight.
Of check-ups missed, of fear unspoken,
Of mates who have gone, of hearts left broken.
Yet through the bristle, hope has grown,
A silent pact — we are not alone.
From stubble talk to honest ground,
Real strength in kindness now is found.
So raise a toast, it is day twenty’s mark,
The MO’s a flame, though grown from spark.
Beyond November’s ends and starts,
It is courage worn upon our hearts.

The mirror greets a bristled face,
Half-formed ‘stache, a badge of grace,
Nineteen days of growth and grit,
More than whiskers—spirit lit.
The talk has been had, the laughs been shared,
Stories opened, hearts laid bare.
Yet this mid-Mo stretch feels slow,
Like miles beneath the marathon glow.
But here is where meaning roots begin,
In tired eyes, in battles within—
Each hair a symbol, bold, sincere,
Of mates we have lost, and those still here.
So keep it growing, steady and strong,
Every moustache hums the same old song:
That men’s health matters, that change is near,
And courage grows, hair by hair each year.

Mid‑Month Mo‑mentum

Eighteen days of bristle and pride,
The Mo now sails, no longer hides.
Patchy at first, then finding form,
A badge of courage through every storm.
Conversations spark in queues and halls,
A laugh, a nod — awareness calls.
It is more than fuzz upon a face,
It is talking men’s health, finding grace.
The mirror smirks, the mood feels lighter,
Each day’s stubble a quiet fighter.
Eighteen down, the month is still wide,
But spirits lift with each stride.
Grow it bold, let purpose show —
Halfway there, let us keep the Mo.

Since 2008 the pledge’s grown,
Mo by Mo, seed by seed sown.
Eighteen rounds of mates and care,
Raised seven-fifty grand to share.
Each whisker worn, a story told,
Of men’s lives saved, of courage bold.
From first shave smooth to silver streak,
Hope grows stronger every week.

Movember Day Seventeen

A thread of courage threads the air,
thin as a whisper, bold as creed.
We lift our voices, slow and sure,
where quiet battles plant their seed.
Each day a mittened moment pressed, against the chill of fear and fate,
We tally miles of whispered prayers
and steady hands that will not abdicate.
The moustache—more than shade and charm—is foil for fears we fight inside;
A banner raised in public light,
a steady, intimate, silent stride.
We speak of health as whole and true, not just the beard that marks the time.
We write the myths of strength in crew,of brothers, sisters, hearts in rhyme.
So on this seventeenth day we stand, a chorus forged from lived, lived care:
To show up, check in, and extend
a hand—to lift, to listen, to share.
In every breath, a pledge to keep
wellness alive in mind and skin:
Movember’s flame, through laughs and tears, brightens the path for all who have been.

Day 16 – Past The Mid-Mo Mark

The mirror nods with quiet grace,
A half-grown Mo upon my face.
Two weeks gone, and there I stand,
Brave of lip, and moustached grand.
The itchy phase now starts to fade,
The halfway point so bravely made.
Each whisker grown, a pledge renewed,
For mates’ wellbeing, strong and true.
It is more than hair—a story told,
Of battles fought, of hearts made bold.
For every man who fears to speak,
This Mo gives strength to those who seek.
So raise a smile, keep spirits high,
My reason grows, as days roll by.
Movember’s voice—both deep and kind—
Reminds the world: care starts in mind.
