What a fantastic day for a walk through the rose gardens and a concert in the sun. it was super busy and some of them had a pleasant fragrance. take time to smell the roses.

hey I had such an amazingly long and interesting conversation with a retired maths teacher today....she's so cool and now paints. v lucky to have that luxury now.

Most of us say we’d be there for our mates if they need us.

Most of us also say that we feel uncomfortable asking mates for help.

Something’s gotta change.

When it comes to depression, anxiety and items on this continuum like suicidal ideation, what can we do?

Talk.
Ask.
Listen.
Encourage action.
Check in.

Begin by talking please.

Here are some practical steps to take

The end is in sight!

It's taken discipline and courage to keep this up. I couldn't have done it without your support.

Thank you

Because depression symptoms are intangible, it's hard to know who might look fine but is actually struggling.
For those suffering with a mental illness, it takes an average of 10 years to ask for help.
You might suggest, gently, that they seek help, or offer to help with specific tasks like looking up therapists in the area.
From 3:04 (out of this 4:29 video) there are tips on being helpful to those whom you may not fully understand.
Please support this worthy cause about helping men with depression and suicidal thoughts.

Day 13: Globally, every minute, a man dies by suicide.
Deaths from suicide occur among males at a rate three times greater than that for females.

If you haven't donated to Movember, please donate using the link above to show your support.

Day 9: moustache is showing a bit more

286 Week(s) Ago

Someone asked me how can someone even think of suicide as an option. I'll explore that and have those conversations based on what I understand and the resources I have available to me.

Here is a video showing an experiment about domestic violence. Some of these seemingly hopeless situations can lead to suicide.

Unhealthy relationships can take their toll. If you see anyone fighting, safely check in or call the police. This shows how socially a woman striking a man is automatically seen as a justified act, it is not and is against the law just as it is if anyone assaults another person.

In 2017, Mo Bros and Mo Sistas from across New Zealand helped us raise $1.8 million for the Movember Foundation.
These donations allow us to raise awareness, invest in vital men's health initiatives and run Movember each year. We want to help men live happier, healthier and longer lives. We do this by investing in the following critical areas: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.

Note: As donations can be made privately, not all donations are displayed to the public.
