In support of Henry Crew taking his motorcycle around the world on a 35,000-mile crusade – raising funds and awareness for the Movember Foundation – Mike Gilbert, Executive Director of Beatnik Motorsport, will join him on the Australian leg this August.
Mike’s motivation to get involed is simple – he works in a male dominated industry where men don’t talk about what’s going on in their lives. A key part of staying mentally well, and being able to tackle the tough stuff.
What’s more, the Movember Foundation’s causes are close to Mike’s heart – with his WW2 veteran grandfather surviving the Great Depression, as well as prostate cancer – before passing away.
Mike heard of Henry’s trip circumnavigating the globe, and thought there was no better tribute he could make to his grandfather, and no better opportunity to see Australia – all the while raising crucial funds and awareness for men's health.
Mike will join Henry and start the Australian leg in Perth, before travelling 5,667 kms across the country – spending 64.72 hours in the saddle – before reaching the finish line in Brisbane.
Along the way, they’ll take media stops in Melbourne, at Australia’s Mo HQ, and in Sydney – with an aim to increase the exposure of Henry’s 35,000 mile crusade – and get even more funds contributed to prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
Through the buzz created by this leg of the ride – including recognition from family, friends and exposure to the public – Mike hopes to hit his fundraising target of $5,000.
Support Mike and Henry on their journey today. Your donation will give these Mo Bros the encouragement they need for this part of the 35,000-mile journey – and help men across the globe live happier, healthier, longer lives.
