Movember is driven to change the face of men’s health and one of the best preventive tools available is to be physically active and Move. There literally isn’t a more efficient and effective training tool to do this than the Concept 2 indoor rower. 

So this Movember, we wanted to introduce as many fathers, brothers and sons to the sport of indoor rowing. And to kick start a habit that could lengthen a lifetime.

That’s why we have partnered with Movember Ambassador Eric Murray and leading Connected Coaching company asensei to bring you a 6-week coaching program called MOROWING. And to get you fired up to learn to row better, we’ve got a short challenge to see what you’ve got. 

There’s nothing like a good challenge to get a group of mates competing against each other, so we’ve got something special for you! The team at asensei put together the Movember Challenge for us – it’s a great way to throw down amongst a group of mates, or between rival clubs and teams, and drive awareness for a great cause.

All you need is an iOS device and a Concept 2 rowing machine in your rowing club, rugby club, CrossFit box or gym. Go to http://movember.asensei.com/ and sign up and download the asensei app. Then when you open the app, sign up and take the Movember Challenge.

The clock will be set to 40 seconds, and you have to row 100m. Soon as you hit the 100m mark, the clock will be set to 37 seconds and off you go again. Every time you cross the 100m line, the clock will get a little faster. It gets real pretty quickly, but let’s see how far you can row.

When you finish, asensei will be there with some tips and tricks specific to how you rowed!

Here’s how you can help us drive awareness for Movember!
  • Take the challenge yourself, then share it with 3 or 4 friends wherever they are in the world. Ask them to share it with 3 or 4 others when they’re done.
  • Take your phone to the gym, the rugby club, the box and get a little competition going with whomever is there.
  • Pick a rival team, or school, or club and throw down a challenge – best time in your team against the best time in theirs.
Share your scores or videos on social media, and please tag them with #morowing so we can get involved with you! And if there’s someone you’d like us to try and get to take the challenge, let us know!

  • Concept 2 Rowing Machine equipped with a PM5 performance monitor. If you have an older performance monitor you can upgrade to a PM5
  • A Smart Phone Cradle
