My motivation

Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. Movember is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and I want to help them get there. Help me stop men dying too young.

Thanks again for all your donations this week. I thought I might be able to sneak out of the building before Laura caught me today.... Unfortunately, that didn't work out!

Please give to Movember for this month!

The first section of facial hair is gone! Thankyou to Joana from Anaesthesia for her contribution. Unfortunately due to the stress of losing my beard, certain steps were required (for more info refer to the video below).
Please remember to donate to Movember or get involved. If our silliness has lightened your day, please give to any member of our team. All funds will go towards a range of men's health initiatives.

To give a few sobering statistics for you:

4. Male Veterinarians are TWICE as likely as other men in the general population to commit suicide. (female vets are 3.5 times more likely!!!)
5. The number of people who have taken their own lives in New Zealand is the highest since records began, with 668 dying by suicide in 2018.
