My motivation

Fundraising for cause areas including:

Men's health
Prostate cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention
Testicular cancer

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer (apart from skin cancers) in Kiwi men. Every year nearly 4000 men are diagnosed and about 650 die from the disease – the third highest cause of death after lung and bowel cancers. Though I thought this would never happen to someone I love...

In 2021, a close family member was diagnosed with this disease. So this really hit home and helped encourage me to support Movember.

The cause of prostate cancer is still unknown at this stage. But one of the easy ways to help detect it is by getting a PSA test included in your normal blood test. There is no extra cost and is a simple blood test like any other. Just ask your GP to include it in your blood test. Think of yourself and your loved ones if you are needing some motivation, as it is always better for it to be detected early rather than late.

Movember also helps raise awareness with other important issues like mental health & suicide prevention, testicular cancer and men's health.
