I am incredibly proud to be running the 2026 New York Marathon in support of Movember New Zealand - raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, men’s mental health, and suicide prevention for the men in our lives.
Movember does important work funding world-leading research, improving early detection and treatment programs, and supporting mental health initiatives that help men live healthier, happier, and longer lives.
Like many people, these causes are deeply personal to me. I’ve witnessed the impact firsthand through my dad, Terry, who beat testicular cancer; my stepdad, Ross, who continues his long battle with prostate cancer; and my cousin Aaron, who sadly lost his battle with mental health and took his own life.
I feel truly grateful to be able to run this marathon when many can’t, and to support such an important cause. And to keep things interesting - for every donation of NZ$500+, I’ll run 5km of the marathon with a moustache on. A small sacrifice for a very important cause!
