Hi Mo fans,

It's 2025, and I'm growing the mo again, and for good reason.
As the saying goes, “we live in interesting times”. Sometimes, those ‘interesting’ things - right now, a lot of it is economic uncertainty, among others - can provoke feelings that aren’t as chipper as we want them be.

I actually didn't do Movember in 2020 or 2022, because I was suffering anxiety and depression myself. I couldn't find the will to be happy, so just let Movember be November. Those who know my passion for Movember know that this was a departure from form for me. Last year and this year have had their challenges, but on the whole – with support and strategies in place, I feel like I can face them in a more positive frame than I have recently.

I'm very lucky in the fact that I have a partner who drove me to seek help when I didn't feel like I deserved it, and also a great bunch of friends who were there to share this with.
Some people aren't so blessed in this regard. Movember helps fund organisations that support people who are suffering from mental health issues, and can help them see that they are worthy of feeling good about themselves.

Please donate to me to help the Movember Foundation help men, and the people that support them. And don’t forget to reach out and check in with your mates every now and again.

Hey all,

So I've finally got around to posting up the 2025 edition of my Mo.
It's somewhat of a slant on my 2023 'RUOK' mo. This year I've chiseled 'HELP' across my mug, in hopes of a laugh, donations, or to just start a conversation.

Not all of us who need help, ask for it. Whether it is a you're not feeling at 100% physically or mentally - if it "isn't manly enough", or you feel lost trying to start the journey to find it, or it doesn't feel accessible to you, or it just feels a bit scary.
And why not? it's hard at the best of times to open up and tell - sometimes a complete stranger - that you aren't operating at a hundo in body or mind. But you pretty much always end up the better for it when you do.

Slapping a fuzzy word across my mug for a month is brave, but getting help is a lot, lot braver.
Help me make this the norm by raising awareness, and raising donations for the Movember Foundation.

Cheers for reading.

Showing off the Movember 30th progress.
A bee-oooo-tiful monkeytail mo if I do say so myself!

Thank you for all your donations and comments this year.
But remember, health isn't just a one month rodeo - it is all year round. Keep listening to your body; get the GP check-ups; chat with mates; keep active.

Bless bless bless.

Asking the question: R U OK

For me, participating in Movember and growing a filthy mo is more than just that in itself.
It's not just about raising money for the Movember Foundation - although that is a great benefit!
It's also about starting a conversation.

Doing this is one of my whys for creating ridiculous stuff with my face hair. If you can get someone asking "What the hell is that on your face?", then you can engage them with awareness of Movember, and then wider conversation about their causes.

Not only that, it might help spark a chat about if there isn't something quite right, hence chiselling R U OK onto my chops.
It could be if they're struggling with mental health, or they haven't visited their GP in a while and they've had a niggle with something but feel too "macho" or have a "she'll be right" attitude to go and see them to get it checked out.

Growing the mo might just be the thing that helps tip a mate into thinking they're worth a damn; that someone is listening, that they have people who care about them and they're not alone.
