I used to think prostate cancer was an old man’s problem. Then a mate of mine, younger than me and not yet 50, spent the last 18 months going through chemo and radiotherapy. He has come out the other side, and watching what he carried changed how I think about all of this. Another close friend is in a different fight, with his mental health, and with the bottle he reached for to deal with it. He is still in it, and he will be for a long time. The honesty it takes to keep showing up for that has my complete respect. So the mo is for both of them, and for every bloke who is quietly dealing with something and has not told anyone yet.
