My motivation

Movember is not just about growing a moustache; it's about growing a movement to change the face of men's health. By participating in Movember, you're not only showing support for the men in your life, but you're also joining a global effort to raise awareness about crucial issues like prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's mental health. Your involvement can spark vital conversations, fund research, drive positive change, and save lives.

I'm raising funds and awareness this Movember for all the dads, brothers, sons and mates in our lives. I need your help. Please donate to support men's health

June is Men's Health Month so it's time to raise awareness, and what better way than a Reverse Movember! And if I can raise $500 in June, I'll ★shave★ the Mo to celebrate!

First, let's talk...

I dream of a world where the bravest warriors are those who dare to seek help, and speaking out is the most courageous act of all. But we live in a world where strength is often measured in silence, so it's time to speak up for those who suffer in the shadows. On average, 1 man dies by suicide Every. Single. Minute. The signs and symptoms are frequently covered up or go unaddressed. The rate of male suicide is almost 7 out of every 10 suicides. These aren't just statistics; they are fathers, brothers, sons, and friends.

Today, I ask you to join me in changing these numbers. Your donation can provide critical support for mental health resources, ensuring that every man has access to the help he needs without stigma or shame. Let's build a world where mental strength is defined not by suffering alone but by the courage to seek support.

And if you need help right now, reach out to me or one of these (NZ) organisations below:

The Suicide Crisis Helpline (0508 828 865)
Lifeline (0800 543 354)

The MO's name today is "Shadow Swag" and if it's to see the light of day, you'll need to donate! See the link below...

What's my MO'fo today? Great question!

Did you know that 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer at some point in their life? It's a highly survivable cancer, if it's discovered early, and yet it's the second leading cause of cancer related death in men behind lung cancer. Every year nearly 300,000 more men are diagnosed.

Fellas, the first step is a blood test. Super easy, talk with your doc!

By donating through Movember, you can help fund research into this disease and it's treatments.

What's my MO'fo you ask? Great question!

In my second post, I'd like to share some more about Prostate Cancer.

I've already shared that 1 in 8 men get this cancer at some point in their life, which is second only to skin cancer diagnoses in men.

However, if you have a close relative with prostate cancer, you are twice as likely to develop it yourself. And if you have two or more close relatives with the disease, you are four times as likely to develop it.

This can seem pretty daunting, but the good news is that this is a highly survivable cancer if detected early.

Polls suggest we don't talk about this disease enough, and half of men aren't even familiar with the symptoms.

So, make sure you do some research for yourself. Talk with your mates. Spread the word. And if you're at elevated risk or over the age of 40, it's time to bring it up with your Doc.

By donating through Movember, you can help fund research into this disease and it's treatments.

The Mo's name today is "Mini Magnum."

This November, I'm raising funds for men's health. In my posts I've shared about #Prostatecancer, #Suicideawareness and #MentalHealth.

For my last post, I'd like to share a little about Testicular Cancer.

Did you know this is the #1 cancer among young men aged 15-35? On average, 1 out of 250 men will be diagnosed with this disease in their lifetime. Fortunately, upwards of 95% of men with Testicular Cancer survive, and early detection is key.

So... how's your pair hangin'? One of the best early detections is simply being familiar with what "normal" feels like for your hazelnuts. That's why giving your two amigos some attention every month can alert you to any subtle changes. There are plenty of guides online if you need to know how to self-assess the gonads. And if you find a lump or something painful, or even if you're just unsure, book an appointment for your tater tots and the Doc will take it from there.

A few years ago, I was concerned about some changes I felt on the family jewels. It took less than 5-minutes for the doc to rule out any concerns. Don't take any chances. You'll thank yourself later.

And while I have you here... How about a donation to my Movember page? I'm almost to my goal of $500! Every bit counts!

We need Mo heroes like you...
