My motivation

I lost my sister, Sally, to suicide on September 21st 2019. The following couple of years were the toughest years of my life.
3.5 years ago, I started running to help both my physical health, which had suffered, and my mental health. I started the instagram page @runningforsal to share my story and my running journey, raise money for charity, and raise mental health awareness.
This year, I want to raise money for the NZ men out there who are finding things tough. I want them to know they are not alone. I want them to know that struggling is normal, but together, we can get through it.

On the 21st of November, I will be running a 6.8km loop on the hour, every hour for as many hours as my mind and body will allow me to.
It will represent pushing through those tough times. Putting one foot in front of the other and bringing a community together.

My goal is to run 30 loops / 30 hours / 200+km and to raise $6000. $1000 for each year that I have missed my sister.

Together, we will change the way men view and deal with mental health struggles.

Well done mate. epic effort in the heat. Also for what you do for these charities and your Whanau. People dont see what you do behind the scenes to make things like the "Front yard Ultra" happen. The support Terryn, Riley and your mum and dad give you is inspiring. I know Sal watches over her little bro. Much Aroha, Pike, Sarah and Kids
