My motivation

ProBros came from a couple of blokes who met on the golf course who had both had prostate cancer. Jamie, an English rugby supporter — which we won’t hold against him, even if the Poms did rig the next Rugby World Cup draw — was a generous bloke and had a great idea to raise money.

Bugger me, but the guy he was talking to was the CEO of the NZ Marketing Association and author of Sod It, Just Do It. On finding this out, and after swapping post-op stories, Jamie’s eyes lit up. “Could you give me a hand?”

“No wucking furries,” John says, and he comes up with the ProBros concept — Prostate Free Guys helping Shit on Cancer.

And then, as luck would have it, both could talk the hind arse off a donkey and knew a ton of people.

So it all begins ……...
