The Movember community generously donate their funds, faces and time to help Movember change the face of men’s health. But where does the money go?

Where The Money Goes

We know that with great moustaches comes great responsibility and we take that seriously.

Of the funds raised globally in 2012, 84.6% has been committed to programmes supporting prostate cancer, testicular cancer and male mental health initiatives. A number of fundraising and administrative tasks are necessary to run an organisation and campaign the size of Movember, however this has only required 11.2% of the funds raised. We’re very proud of the high percentage of funds committed to programmes, which is well above international best practice of 80% of funds raised invested in programmes.

Movember retains a small percentage of funds to cover future campaigns and to ensure the long-term continuity of the organisation. In 2012 this was 4.2% of funds raised. The retained funds are being progressively built up over multiple campaigns, and once the Board of Directors are satified they are at a sufficient level, no further funds will be retained.

Our decisions to fund programmes are shaped directly by our vision, values and goals. Movember has stringent and formal policies around the programmes we will fund and we’re privileged to work with experts and world-class organisations that respect and adhere to these principles.
